AhlanHamad × Xero
Finalize a payroll run in AhlanHamad and it reaches your Xero organisation as one summarised manual journal, mapped once to your own chart of accounts.
Xero is in early access: we switch it on for one company at a time, on request, and help you set it up. It isn't open to every company yet.

- Where it stands
- Built, and tested end to end with a Xero trial organisation: journals posted, and the reversal of a deleted run. It has not posted to a customer's live Xero organisation yet.
- What you need
- A Xero organisation, and a company admin in AhlanHamad to connect it and map the accounts. Connect with your own Xero developer app — our setup guide walks you through it. Xero's Starter app plan, with 5 organisations per app, is enough.
What it does
- Payroll accrual: when a run is finalized, one posted manual journal with a line per account — salaries and allowances, employer social insurance, and the payables they create.
- End of service: each month's end-of-service accrual posts as its own manual journal.
- Salary payment and bank charges: off by default. Xero doesn't accept bank accounts in manual journals, so when you switch these on they post to a salary clearing account you choose.
- Your choice of organisation: if your Xero login reaches several organisations, you pick the one that receives payroll journals.
- Other currencies: a run in a currency other than your Xero base currency is held unless you allow conversion. Then it is converted at AhlanHamad's daily rate, and the rate used is written on the journal.
- No duplicates on retry: each journal carries a fixed idempotency key and a marker in its narration, and before posting we check whether Xero already has it.
- Corrections are new journals, never edits: when a payroll entry is reversed in AhlanHamad, for example when a run is deleted, the reversal posts as its own journal.
How it works
- Connect your Xero organisation from Integrations in AhlanHamad.
- Load your chart of accounts and map each payroll account to a Xero account, once. A journal is held until every account it uses is mapped.
- Run payroll as usual. The payroll run page shows each journal's status, and why one is held or failed.
Step-by-step setup guide: connect Xero, map your accounts and check your first payroll
What it doesn't do
- No per-employee entries. Names, IDs and individual salaries stay in AhlanHamad; Xero receives totals per account.
- Manual journals are always in your organisation's base currency, never a foreign currency.
- Xero keeps two decimals, so in three-decimal currencies (KWD, BHD, OMR) a line can differ from AhlanHamad's ledger by up to 0.005.
- It creates manual journals only: no employees, payslips or invoices in Xero, and no government filings.
Questions
Does Xero see each employee's salary?
No. Each journal has one line per payroll account with the run's total for that account. Individual pay stays in AhlanHamad.
Why doesn't the salary payment post to my bank account in Xero?
Xero doesn't allow bank accounts in manual journals. Payment journals post to a salary clearing account you choose instead, and they are off until you switch them on.
Can my company use it now?
Yes, in early access. We switch Xero on for your company and help you connect it and check the first results. It isn't open to every company yet.
