AhlanHamad × Slack
Approvers decide leave requests and expense claims from a Slack message, and anyone can check their leave balance without opening another app.
This connection is not live yet. Everything on this page describes how it will work when it opens.

- Where it stands
- Built and tested with simulated Slack calls. It can't be installed yet.
- What you need
- A Slack workspace, and a company admin in AhlanHamad to install the app. Each Slack workspace belongs to one company.
What it does
- Approve or reject from Slack: the current approver of a leave request, and the people who approve expenses, get a direct message with Approve and Reject buttons. Reject asks for a reason, which is required for expenses.
- Messages keep up: once a request is decided anywhere — Slack, the web app, the mobile app or WhatsApp — the Slack message shows the outcome and loses its buttons.
- Commands: /hamad balance, /hamad approvals, /hamad request (opens a leave request) and /hamad help.
- Home tab: your annual leave balance, your open requests and the items waiting for your approval.
- Daily who's-away post in one channel, at an hour you choose: who is on approved leave today, names only, never the leave type. Birthdays and work anniversaries are optional.
- Each person's language: messages arrive in Arabic or English, following their Slack or app language.
- Every button is checked: Slack's signature, a token tied to that request and approver, and the member's link to their employee record. A request is decided once, and the decision is in the audit log.
How it works
- A company admin installs AhlanHamad into your Slack workspace from Integrations.
- Slack members are linked to employees with the same email who have an AhlanHamad login. An admin can link or turn off anyone.
- Approvers start getting requests in Slack. Turn on the daily post with /hamad digest here in a channel.
What it doesn't do
- No clocking in from Slack: clock-in needs the phone's location for the geofence.
- Expense claims don't follow an approval chain in Slack: every linked expense approver is asked, and the first decision counts.
- No attachments on leave requests made from Slack.
- The daily post goes to one channel and never shows leave types or the date of birth from HR records.
Questions
Can an approver override HR from Slack?
No. A Slack click runs the same leave or expense decision as the web app, as that approver, at the manager step only.
Does the daily post say why someone is away?
No. It lists names only, never the leave type.
When will it be available?
There is no date yet. Book a short call and tell us you use Slack, and we'll let you know when it opens.
